A Composition: How has life in Europe changed in the last 150 years? Which synthetic discoveries and technical inventions have influenced the way of life in Europe?

In the last 150 years Europe has change a lot due to technological influences.
Electricity and the Industrialisation caused a huge change in Europe and its society.
The impulse for this came with the invention of light bulbs in 1879.
The people who had the possibility to use this technology had a big advantage and were no longer reliant on candles or oil lamps. Also the light bulbs very more safe than the vintage options have been in the past.
People were fascinated by the invention of the light bulb because it was a completely new thing for them.
Today light bulbs are a matter of course.

In 1911 the atomic model by Ernst Rutherford brought a new period in energy development.
The discovery of the nuclear fission in 1938 by Otto Hahn is based on the atomic model.
This is by far the most important discovery in the last 150 years.
The nuclear reactor developed from this revolutionary discovery.
The life of the European people wasn’t affected until 60 years later when the first nuclear reactor was build.
At this time people thought that nuclear power was going to replace energy generation from fossil fuel, till they realised that there was a lot of dangerous waste.
Even today we still have this problems, this is why there are just some nuclear reactors left which are still used.
This is like so much a result of the 2nd world war in which a lot technical progress has been made.
Another result is the computer. In 1930 it was first evolved in analogue forms.
Firstly the computer was used in the 2nd word war and at that time there was a huge technical progress.
At around the 1970s the computer was used in companies as a mainframe.
Ten years later in 1980 computers were also used in private households and in companies directly at the workplace and not just as a mainframe.
At this time not many people could afford a computer for private use, so it was considered to be a luxury good.
According to today’s situation this is unbelievable because it’s nothing special if a person owns a computer or even two.

The invention of the internet made the use of a computer even more interesting, private as well as at work. It influenced the peoples life’s and eases it.
Today one contacts people via e-mail, which arrive within seconds at the addressee, in contrast a letter which needs a few days to arrive at its addressee.
Another milestone in the life of the people is the invention of the car in 1886 by Carl Benz and Gottlieb Daimler.
In the modern world cars are a matter of course without which today's world and society would be unimaginable.
In the USA the automotive industry boomed in 1920. In Europe the boom came in 1955 with the make VW.
This boom is due to the economic miracle in the 60s. From this time on it developed to our nowadays standard. But for a long time it was still classified as a sign for wealth and power.

As a conclusion one could say that the meaningful use of electricity has change and affected the life in Europe the most.
Also you can’t forget about the two world wars at that time, which influenced the way of life with its technologies.
On one hand a lot of the inventions enriched people’s lives, but on the other hand some like the atomic bomb didn’t, they even caused the opposite of what they were meant to be for.

In my eyes the positive inventions made it possible to live a better life nowadays and made a lot of thins ways easier.
Very Happy Very Happy
