HHL Signs Cooperation with Romanian Business University

10.04.2014 - (idw) HHL Leipzig Graduate School of Management

Today, HHL Leipzig Graduate School of Management announced its partnership with Bucharest University of Economic Studies. The cooperation will be part of the student exchange (ERASMUS+) for students completing a Master's program to obtain an M.Sc. or an MBA. The contract was signed today by HHL Dean Prof. Dr. Andreas Pinkwart and the Dean of Bucharest University of Economic Studies, Prof. Pavel Nstase, Ph.D., in the presence of Dr. Lazr Comnescu, Ambassador of Romania to the Federal Republic of Germany. Prof. Dr. Andreas Pinkwart comments on the significance of this international academic collaboration, "Bucharest University of Economic Studies is the leading institution of its kind in Romania. We are glad to be able to work with such an excellent partner in an economic region which is so important, especially for Germany. The new partnership with the Romanian school complements the internationalization strategy of HHL which acts as a bridgehead into Central and Eastern Europe due to its geographic location, among other things."

International Exchange Programs at HHL

HHL Leipzig Graduate School of Management has ties with more than 100 business schools worldwide. Each year, about 80 HHL students spend a term at one of the partner universities abroad in the context of international academic relations. In return, the Leipzig-based business school welcomes 80 international students to its campus every year. To promote the intercultural student exchange even more intensely, HHL only sends a maximum of two students to an international partner university at the same time. The accreditation, the academic reputation of the institution, the attractiveness of the university location and the students' safety in the country of destination are taken into consideration when choosing new partners. The students' mobility is enabled by the adjustment of HHL's academic calendar to international standards. Consequently, HHL has introduced a structure based on quarters instead of the common semester structure and therefore allows for better planning with regard to the term abroad.
